Lorne Merkur and Merkur Family

The Merkur Cup is the official trophy recording the division winners of LeagueTO. Generously donated by and named for Lorne Merkur.  Winning this trophy not only demonstrates your teams current success, but cements you and your team a place within Toronto squash history.

We love our sport, but it’s the people we meet and the bonds we form with each other that keep us playing. This is something that Lorne Merkur cherished most of all about squash. Lorne unfortunately passed away from a long battle with cancer, but his name will live on in the community representing the continuation and growth of squash and all that comes with it.  The Merkur family continues to support the league and squash across Toronto.
